Here’s some new facts about Vanessa’s character, Sa5m in the movie, Bandslam:
Vanessa Hudgens as Sa5m (Note: the 5 is silent), is described as “dark and emo” and yet a pretty 17-year-old girl. She talks slowly because she used to stutter, and the doctor told her that slowing down would help. She is Will’s girlfriend.

Vanessa Hudgens recently sat down with Alloy.com to chat about her upcoming flick Bandslam.
The 20-year-old actress dished about going from giddy Gabriella in HSM to monotone Sa5m as well as her craziest fan encounter. Check it:
On learning to talk without any emotions: “It kind of was [hard] because I’m such a giddy person and I laugh at almost everything, so I had to refrain from that. It was a lot of fun, you know? She’s a different kind of person, so it took a lot.”
On her snacking guilty pleasure: “I like dipping French fries in a milkshake.”
On her craziest fan encounter: “Probably in Brazil. I was coming back to LA and I was with (boyfriend) Zac [Efron], and there was a security team holding hands, circling us and I was like, ‘Oh gosh, this could be a disaster. We look ridiculous!’ As soon as we walk in, I’m about to say, ‘It’s OK, you don’t have to do it,’ when a bunch of fans come running out of nowhere and it became a mob scene. It was crazy.”
On those New Moon rumors: “It was completely false. I never even talked to anyone about that movie at all. It came out of nowhere. My sister is a big fan of the books, so she’s read almost all of them and I’m friends with Nikki [Reed] who’s in that movie. So she told me about it — and I was like, ‘It would be awesome to work with you!’ But it’s not really happening right now.”

As we all know, Michael Jackson has passed away and many celebrities such as Vanessa, have been affected by this.
Vanessa has said she is so sorry for the death of Michael Jackson and says he may be dead but will still live on. Vanessa said she was a big fan of him and is shocked on what had happened.

Vanessa Hudgens will be hopping from one side of Canada to the other this year as she’ll soon be joining Emily Browning and Abbie Cornish in Vancouver to film Sucker Punch.
The 20-year-old actress, who’s currently in Montreal filming Beastly with hunk Alex Pettyfer, dished to MTV that she couldn’t be more thrilled with the role of Blondie.
Vanessa shared, “I’m extremely excited. When I read about the project I was like, ‘That’d be great, but its not going to happen’…and now it actually is!”
Director Zack Snyder is equally as thrilled that Vanessa is going to be in his movie. He told InStyle UK, “She understood immediately what I was trying to do with the movie and has the acting chops to pull it off; her dancing background gives her the physicality to be an action star; and let’s face it, she is also beautiful.”
Sucker Punch is the story of young girl, Baby Doll (Browning) who is institutionalized by an abusive stepfather. In order to survive in this new setting, the girl retreats into a fantasy world of her own creation. It all seems innocent — if exceedingly dark — enough, until the imaginary place becomes a tool which she uses to plan an escape. Jena Malone and Jamie Chung also star.

To add to my previous post, here is a video of Vanessa saying that she’s done with musicals for a while.
‘I’m just focusing on films and acting,’ the star says.
Vanessa Hudgens won the hearts of tweens everywhere as Gabriella in the “High School Musical” movies, and she’s set to do it again this summer when her new film, “Bandslam,” hits theaters. But these days Hudgens is taking a break from singing to focus solely on acting.
“It’s great! I mean, I love musicals, I really do,” she told MTV News on the set of her new (non-musical) film, “Beastly.” “I grew up doing them, so it’ll always have a place in my heart … at the same time, it’s nice to be able to separate the two and just be able to focus on films. It’s a lot of fun playing different characters and taking on new journeys.”
Focusing on these upcoming projects leaves little time for Hudgens to work on anything music related, even writing tracks for any upcoming albums. “Honestly, I’m kind of taking a break from music right now. I’m just focusing on films and acting. I feel like when I’m doing something I really want, [I] focus on that and try to not spread myself all over the place.”
But just because she’s not singing in the film doesn’t mean that Hudgens has ruled out recording a song for the soundtrack. “I’m always up for anything musically,” she said. “I think it’s so much fun. Just as long as I’m not singing in the movie,” she laughed, “then it’s OK.”
